Join us for Eat Local Month, a month-long celebration of local food and those who grow, raise, fish, make, and cook it to share with us! All month long we’ll be highlighting opportunities to eat local and also meet your chef, farmer, fisherman, and grocer and experience the unique flavors of our region. Farm to Table Trails
All Year Long!: Eat local and earn prizes! Check in at local farms, restaurants, and farm stays on our Farm to Table Trails to receive points. Use your collected points to choose Eat Local First prizes.
Meet Local Chefs and Restaurateurs
Sept. 1-8 Restaurant Week: Local restaurants will feature menu specials comprised of 50% or more local ingredients – these specials run for all of September! Look for the fork at local restaurants to find the Eat Local Month specials.
Meet Your Farmer
Sept. 9-15 Farm Week: Learn about local agriculture and enjoy farm activities like:
- Participating in the Whatcom County Farm Tour on Sept. 14!
- Visiting a local Farm Stand
- Subscribing to a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
- U-pick apples and pumpkin patches

Sept. 16-22 Market Week: Farmers markets, fish markets, cheese markets, and grocers are bountiful at the end of summer, and well into the fall – come enjoy, and support your local market vendors!
Meet Your Fishermen
Sept. 23-30 Seafood Week: Enjoy the amazing flavors from our own Salish Sea
- Visit the Bellingham Dockside Market
- Search for tasty Seafood from one of many local fishermen
- Try your hand at baking salmon with fresh herbs
- Get excited for Seafeast on Oct. 5 and 6!
- Reefnet Talk with Pete and Deb Granger on Monday, September 23rd 6:30-7:30pm.
